Macau Government Tourist Office (MGTO) has reached a consensus with related departments to simplify the application process for various licenses, a measure that remarkably reduces the number of documents required for applicants' submission and avoids repetitive work among various departments. The simplification policy will come into effect on July 1.

MGTO strives to simplify and refine the administrative procedures. After numerous meetings with Land, Public Works and Transport Bureau, Fire Services Bureau, Health Bureau, Civic and Municipal Affairs Bureau and Environmental Protection Bureau, the various departments reached a consensus regarding simplification of license application procedures for hotels, guest houses, restaurants, bars, nightclubs, saunas, massage parlours, karaoke lounges and health clubs.

The procedure-simplification policy can profoundly reduce the number of applicants' visits and documents required for their submission. It can also avoid repetitive work among related departments and save more room for departmental storage. The simplification measure nevertheless will not influence the threshold of license approval.

The administrative-procedure simplification policy will be launched on July 1. Citizens can obtain the renewed application forms and formalities guidelines at MGTO or browse the related information on Macau Tourism Industry Net: http://industry.macaotourism.gov.mo/en/index.php.

In accord with the enforcement of simplified administrative procedures, MGTO and the above mentioned departments jointly held an explanation session today (June 19) to inform trade partners about the simplified procedures in detail.

MGTO is committed to making opportune progress and improving the administrative procedures steadily in order to create an optimal business environment for the travel industry and keep pace with the sustainable tourism development.
