"Experience Macau - The Magical Journey" Carnival

Organized by Macau Government Tourist Office (MGTO), and supported by Hong Kong Commercial Broadcasting Corporation Limited, "Experience Macau - The Magical Journey" carnival has been held in New World Centre in Tsim Sha Tsui on 6 to 7 October 2007, attracting a substantial number of audience.
Engineer João Manuel Costa Antunes, Director of MGTO and Coordinator of Macau Grand Prix Committee (MGPC), artist Ms. Gigi Leung and Macau Grand Prix driver Mr. Andre Couto, officiated the event. Officials from MGTO and MGPC also attended the function.
MGTO engaged the themes of "Experience Macau!" and "Macau Grand Prix" for the carnival, in which some magical elements to highlight the many changes in Macau were also incorporated. The carnival aimed to promote the diversified developments of Macau tourism with a touch of magical feeling to let the Hong Kong people experience the new Macau. The carnival programmes featured live percussion background music, Portuguese Dance Game, Grand Prix and Macau's heritage games, Racing Queen Contest and sharing from guests who had participated in MGTO's "Experience Macau" campaign.
Famous artist, Ms. Gigi Leung, acted as the ambassador of the carnival. She led other artists, including Ms. Kary Ng, Ms. Ivana Wong, Ms. Stephanie Cheng, Mr. Ken Hung, Mr. Paco Chau and auto-racers Mr. Andre Couto, Mr. Lo Hung Piu, Mr. Lo Ka Fai and Mr. Lo Ka Chun to perform and play games with audience on stage. The on-stage show highlighted the carnival and attracted a substantial number of audiences to participate during the day.
In addition to the on-stage performances, two racing cars and racing suits were exhibited at the Grand Prix booth. Participants could play the motor racing simulating game, named "World Touring Car Champion Simulator", and experience the speed of the races in Grand Prix. There were also painting game, "Difference is Macau" campaign exhibition, Grand Prix and Cultural Heritage display panels, which helped the Hong Kong audience to be more familiarized of Macau.
MGTO has employed "Experience Macau" as the promotional campaign this year with the slogan, "A World of Difference, the Difference is Macau" for a series of promotions around the world. Coupled with the development of new hotels and large-scale tourism projects, Macau has become one of the key leisure and business destinations in the Asia Pacific region.
