New office of the Macau Government Tourist Office opens (translation)

The new office of Macau Government Tourist Office at the Alameda Dr. Carlos D'Assumpção was officially opened at noon today.
The ribbon-cutting ceremony was officiated by the Secretary for Social Affairs and Culture Chui Sai On and other guests at the lobby of the new office, followed by Catholic and Buddhism blessing ceremonies. The opening ceremony concluded with a plaque-unveiling by the Secretary.
Addressing the ceremony, Director of MGTO João Manuel Costa Antunes said that with a more spacious and comfortable working environment, the working efficiency will be further enhanced to provide quality service to the public. He also added that the tourist information counter and gallery of the former MGTO building at the Senado Square would be retained while the rest of the floors will house the office of MICE Research and Information Center to be established soon.
The guests presented at the opening ceremony included officials from the governmental departments, members from the Tourism Development Committee, members from the Macau Grand Prix Committee, representatives from the travel trade associations, tourism industry and media.
Occupying three floors, the new office of MGTO covers a total area of 4,500 sq meters. Floor 12th houses the Licensing & Inspection Department, Licensing Division, Inspection Division, Administration and Finance Division and Tourism Fund Unit. Floor 13th houses the offices of Directors and the assistant unit, Promotion Department, Research & Planning Department, Marketing Division, Advertising & Production Division and Public Relations Division. Floor 14th houses the Product & Special Projects Department and an auditorium.
The new office, costing MOP6 millions and 4 months to build, is furnished with equipments and facilities costing MOP2 million and has red as its theme color.
