The UN Tourism has designated 27 September each year as “World Tourism Day.” To celebrate this international tourism occasion and align with this year’s theme “Digital Agenda and Artificial Intelligence to Redesign Tourism”, the Macao Government Tourism Office will organize the “2026 World Tourism Day Tray Race” on Sunday, 27 September 2026, along the route from the Ruins of St. Paul’s to Senado Square. This year’s event is themed as “Smart Tour Macao”, aiming to bring together tourism professionals and showcase their expertise and passion in a joyful atmosphere.

With your continuous support, the tray race has become a vibrant highlight each year. This year’s tray race will be divided into male and female categories with prizes given to the Champions, 1st and 2nd runners-up, as well as the Best Costume Award. The Best Costume Award in both the male and female categories with a cash prize of MOP 1,688.00, all industry partners are encouraged to participate for a chance to win exciting rewards.

The “Mascots Parade” segment will continue to be held this year, inviting government departments, enterprises and associations to join in promoting “Tourism+” cross-sector collaboration and showcasing Macao’s diverse tourism elements. Through the creative costumes and imaginative themes, the mascots will showcase their vitality and uniqueness, adding a vibrant atmosphere to the occasion. The parade will then proceed to the finish line at Senado Square, where mascots will have the chance to compete for the titles of Champion, 1st runner-up, 2nd runner-up.
