Macau Delegation to '2000 China Domestic Travel Fair' (Translation)

To enhance the communication with the mainland travel industry and to further develop China, which is the major tourism market of Macau, a delegation headed by Secretary for Social Affairs and Culture will participate in the "2000 China Domestic Travel Fair" in Xinjiang.
The "2000 China Domestic Travel Fair", jointly organized by the China National Tourism Administration and the People's Government of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, will be held from July 12 to 16 at the International Expo Center in Urumqi, Xinjiang. Being the largest annual promotional event in domestic travel trade, the "China Domestic Travel Fair" attracts trade delegations, travel enterprises to present the abundant tourism resources, cultures and ethnic feature, tourism products etc. of each region through various devices.
Xinjiang, following Guangzhou, Haikou, Kunming, Shanghai, Dalian, Quanzhou, Kunming, was selected as the venue for the 8th China Domestic Travel Fair to meet with China's policy in Western Region Development.
This is the 2nd year for Macau to establish an exhibition booth at the "China Domestic Travel Fair", and the booth area reaches 36 sq. meters this year. A 15-member delegation is led by Secretary for Social Affairs and Culture, Fernando Chui Sai On with members including Director of Macau Government Tourist Office Joao Manuel Costa Antunes, Deputy director Helena Fernandes, Advisors of Office of the Secretary for Social Affairs and Culture, Davian Chu and Sam Kit. Apart from promoting Macau at the Travel Fair, the delegation will meet with the National Tourism Administration and the Tourism Bureau of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region to discuss about the cooperation between Macau and mainland in tourism development. The event provides an ideal opportunity, not only for the mainland counterparts to learn more about Macau, but also to foster ties between the industry people to develop tourism resources.
The delegation will hold a press conference in Urumqi to introduce the unique tourism products of Macau and the latest travel information to the mainland media and tourism sectors.
