The Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) is the leader of and authority on Pacific Asia travel and tourism. The PATA Chapter network is unique among the world's travel association with more than 17,000 members in 78 Chapter locations worldwide. The Macau Government Tourist Office has been a PATA Member since 1966. The PATA Macau Chapter has currently 40 industry members covering different sectors in the tourism industry.

The PATA Board of Directors Meeting will be held in the Macau Tourism Activities Centre on 15-17 January 1999. Macau has welcomed over 100 PATA board members in this PATA Board of Directors Meeting. All these board members are representing the leaders in different sectors of the Tourism Industry from all over the world, namely Government Tourist Offices, Air Carriers, Hotel Chains, Travel agencies, and Tourism Education.
