Feedback on the recent appearance of Dengue fever in Macao (Translation)

The Macao Health Services announced on Friday, September 21st, that the peak of the Dengue fever outbreak was over and that the situation is under control. From the discovery of the first case of Dengue fever in Macao up till now, 415 people got infected, out of which 354 patients have recovered already. The Macao Government Tourist Office is paying close attention to the development of the case.
The Macao Health Services have been highly concerned with the Dengue fever cases and the mosquito extermination will be intensified. Hospitals and clinics are prepared to receive patients and to provide treatments. More workers will be assigned to carry out mosquito extermination actions at abandoned construction sites and old buildings.
Dengue fever is an infection transmitted by mosquitoes. Tourists are suggested to avoid outdoor activities so as to eliminate the chances of being infected. They can also take some precaustionary measures, such as wearing long sleeves or applying mosquito repellent and staying in air-conditioned rooms. Moreover, the Macao Government Tourist Office will continuously keep close contact with the Health Services to further understand the situation of Dengue fever cases in Macao.
