"Go Macau Travel!"Launched in Hong Kong to Promote Macau Grand Prix

Jointly organized by the Macau Government Tourist Office (MGTO) and the Macau Grand Prix Committee (MGPC), fully supported by Metro Showbiz and Metro Finance, the "Go Macau Travel!", a promotional activity of Macau Grand Prix Golden Jubilee Carnival, was held today (September 20) at Whampao Garden, Hung Hom, Hong Kong.
Mr. João Manuel Costa Antunes, Coordinator of the Macau Grand Prix Committee and Director of MGTO; Ms. Maria Helena de Senna Fernandes and Mr. Manuel Goncalves Pires Junior, Deputy Directors of MGTO and members of MGPC, and Ms Davina Chu, Deputy Coordinator of MGPC were present at the event.
To enable the Hong Kong citizens to become more familiar with the Macau Grand Prix and to promote the Macau Grand Prix Golden Jubilee Carnival in order to attract more people from Hong Kong to visit the Macau Grand Prix, the organizers of the event prepared the "Go Macau Travel!" at Whampao Garden, Hung Hom, Hong Kong. The event featured Hong Kong pop music artists Athena Chu, Alex Fong, Maggie Fu, Barry Ip and Don Li. Stage games were held with fabulous prizes for visitors to the event.
To create an exciting atmosphere of the Macau Grand Prix on site, the organizers blocked a street at Whampao Garden to showcase some superb examples of racing machinery from the Macau Grand Prix. The cars on show included the 1992 Macau Formula 3 Grand Prix winning machine which Sweden's Rickard Rydell drove to victory, an Aprilia RS250 motorcycle, powerful Ford Focus racing cars, and two Alfa Romeo Safety Cars. Drivers and riders from the Macau Grand Prix were invited to talk about their on-track experiences to the audience.
Following this promotional activity, Metro Showbiz and Metro Finance will also broadcast news of the "Macau Grand Prix Golden Jubilee Carnival" in their programs.
To celebrate the forthcoming 50th Macau Grand Prix, a month-long celebration - "Macau Grand Prix Golden Jubilee Carnival" will be held in November in Macau. Apart from the exciting races, the program will provide both visitors and citizens of Macau with different kinds of activities, including the Macau International Fireworks Display Contest, the Wushu International Championship, the Macau Fringe, the Macau Food Festival and other cultural activities.
