Ten thousandth passenger under the ferry ticket promotion of

Macau Government Tourist Office, Shun Tak-China Travel Shipping Management Limited and New World First Ferry Services (Macau) Limited have jointly launched a ferry ticket promotion since June 2nd, 2003, and this morning (June 29), Shun Tak-China Travel Shipping Management Limited welcomed the lucky 100,000th passenger under the ferry ticket promotion and a special prize was offered to the passenger to mark this happy occasion.

To celebrate the occasion that one of the ferry companies participating in the ferry ticket promotion welcomed the 100,000th passenger, Director of Macau Government Tourist Office, João Manuel Costa Antunes traveled to Hong Kong to present the welcome token to the lucky passenger in the ceremony at the 3rd floor of Shun Tak Center. The surprised passenger was Mrs Wong from Hong Kong who was setting off with her husband and son for a relaxing day-trip in Macau. Mrs Wong was delighted to be the lucky passenger and she was offered with a two-night stay in a 5-star hotel, Macau Highlight Tour and executive lunch at Robuchon a Galera Restaurant.

Mrs Wong expressed that their family usually visited Macau 4 to 5 times per year and liked to stroll around Macau to try the delicious food and snacks. 'Taipa Village is our favorite place and we are going to bring home lots of almond cakes as souvenirs!' she added.

The ferry ticket promotion has received overwhelming responses from the public since its launch. From the beginning of June to the 26th of the month, the preliminary estimates suggest an increase of 16% in visitor arrivals compared to the same period of last year.

The ferry ticket promotion under the 'Macau Welcomes You in Summer' is divided into 2 phases. In phase 1, traveler will be awarded one free return ticket from Macau to Hong Kong with any purchase of one full fare Hong Kong-Macau ferry ticket made in Hong Kong, any time any day of the week from June 2, 2003 (07:00 hours) to July 20 (23:59 hours) inclusive. Tickets could be purchased at the ticketing outlets of the ferry company only. In phase 2, tickets are incorporated into travel packages to be sold through the travel trade in Macau and Hong Kong from July 21,2003 (00:00 hours) to August 31 (23:59 hours) inclusive.
