MGTO staff deployed to Thailand has returned to Macau (Translation)

In regard to the strike of tsunamis unleashed by earthquake near the Indonesian island of Sumatra, the Macau Government Tourist Office Headquarter received no new call to (853)315566 today (Jan. 10). The help lines (853)315566 in Macau and (66) 9685- 8194 in Thailand stop accepting inquiries related to the tsunami incidents from today (Jan. 10).

MGTO has sent up a help line (853) 315566 on Dec 27 after the tsunami incident, and has received, till Jan. 10, a total of 72 calls --- 24 inquiries, 28 requests for assistance and 20 calls from citizens providing relevant information.

MGTO has sent two staff to Thailand right after the tsunami incident to provide possible assistance to the affected Macau residents and has closely monitored the incident.

The MGTO staffs have left Thailand for Macau today, so as the injured Portuguese and his sons who live in Macau, accompanied by the volunteer doctor. At present, there is only one volunteer stays behind to finalize the work and will return to Macau during this week.
