Chief Executive of Macau Special Administrative Region Chui Sai On and Governor of Jiangsu Province Li Xueyong will preside over the opening ceremony of the "Jiangsu Macau Week and Dynamic Macau" on March 18 in Nanjing.
Held from March 18 to 20, "Jiangsu Macau Week and Dynamic Macau" is the first ever mega promotional event that integrates Macau Week and Dynamic Macau to promote and showcase Macau's characteristics as a "world center of tourism and leisure" and as the service platform for commercial and trade exchange. Chief Executive of Macau SAR Chui Sai On will lead an official delegation to participate in the event.
With Macau SAR Government and Jiangsu Provincial People's Government as the advisory bodies, "Jiangsu Macau Week and Dynamic Macau" is organized by Macau Government Tourist Office, Macau Economic Services and Macau Convention and Exhibition Association, with the support of the Hong Kong and Macau Affairs Office of Jiangsu Provincial People's Government, Department of Commerce of Jiangsu Province, Jiangsu Provincial Tourism Administration, Information Office of Jiangsu Provincial People's Government, China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Jiangsu Sub-Council, Nanjing Municipal People's Government, Information Bureau of Macau SAR Government, Macau Trade and Investment Promotion Institute and Cultural Affairs Bureau of Macau SAR Government.
Major activities of "Jiangsu Macau Week and Dynamic Macau" include the signing ceremony of a Memorandum of Understanding between Jiangsu and Macau on tourism cooperation, the opening ceremony of "Jiangsu Macau Week and Dynamic Macau" and "Jiangsu - Macau Tourism, Economic and Trade Cooperation Forum". The organizer hosts a press conference in Nanjing today (March 16) to introduce the event to the local media.
"Jiangsu Macau Week and Dynamic Macau" is a mega promotional event that combines tourism promotion, economic and trade information and a product fair, offering diverse and colorful activities. The exhibition covers an area of over 10,000 square meters, featuring booths showcasing Macau tourism and economic development, Macau World Heritage, Macau Grand Prix, "Lotus in Bloom – Embracing Continuity & Change in Macau", "Made in Macau" and creative industries. A team of about 80 people, including dragon and lion dance group, Portuguese folk dance group and Macau singers, will perform at the event. The Macau Chinese Orchestra will join the Nanjing Philharmonic Orchestra to host a concert in Nanjing.
