The Macau Government Tourist Office (MGTO) has just launched a two-month summer campaign named “Macau ‘99 Treasure Hunt”; the exact promotional period is from 10/July to 12/September 1999.
Objective of the campaign is to boost up tourist traffic to Macau during the summer vacation.

Upon arrival at Macau and the appropriate registration at MGTO’s information counters, tourists will receive a "Hunt-For-Fun” Passport. Follow the “Hunt-For-Fun” treasure hunt routes and look out for the treasures Macau has to offer. Simply fill in the treasure form and tourists are entitled to the Summer Grand Draw. Grand prizes include a special edition of Ruin’s of St. Paul’s plague in gold.

Holders of Hunt-For- Fun Passport are entitled to a 50% discount or a free entry to Museums, up to 60% discount on the price of hotel rooms. Discounts from bars, restaurants, fashion, shopping arcades, jewellery & watches, helicopter, sea transportation and other prizes will also be offered to visitors who pick up tourist “Hunt-For-Fun” Passports at information counters of the Macau Government Tourist Office (Terminal, Airport, and MGTO head office).

The passport suggests several Treasure Hunt itineraries. These will take in the enclave’s routes; follow these routes or consume at designated outlets; tourists will then be able to obtain “Hunt-for-Fun” stamps at these outlets. For those who have acquired a sufficient number of stamps will be entitled to exchange for special souvenirs, including Macau magnet, tee-shirt, Macau tourist spot tower miniature, tickets for the 46th Macau Grand Prix and special souvenir book of Macau Grand Prix. In addition to the above benefits is the offer of Macau Postcards to tourists who fill in the detachable “My opinion from” and return to MGTO’s information counters.

What’s more? Visitors who successfully answer the riddles printed on the “Treasure Form” will be automatically admitted to the grand draw to be taken place at the end of the campaign. Prizes include: vouchers for luxurious hotel accommodation, tickets for sea transportation between Macau and Hong Kong free of charge one time every month for one year, and of course the special prize, one genuine gold plaque of Ruins of St. Paul’s.

The more places you visit, the more surprises you will get.
