Published on 2002/06/15

The Macau Government Tourist Office (MGTO), in cooperation with the Hong Kong Metro Broadcast Corporation Limited and the Metro Broadcast Radio Drama, has produced an inspirational radio play called 'Wish You Were Here' that will first be broadcast on June 17th, 2002.

For this reason, MGTO has held a promotion in Hong Kong at the Mongkok New Century Place in Kowloon on June 15th, which attracted a large batch of Hong Kong residents.

The participants at the promotion included MGTO's Director, João Manuel Costa Antunes, its Deputy Director, Helena Senna Fernandes, various department and division heads and staff, the CEO of Metro Broadcast Corporation Limited, Kam Kwok Leung, the Metro Showbiz Program Director, Chu Ming Yui, the Metro Broadcast Radio Drama leader, Perrie Lai, and the four leading characters of the radio play, who are played by famous Hong Kong artists Hacken Lee, Miriam Yeung, Bo Bo Chan and Bernard Chow. The 4 leading characters held an autograph session and played games with live audiences at the roadshow.

The 'Wish You Were Here' radio play will be first broadcast on FM 99.7 Metro Showbiz on June 17th, at 11:00p.m. The 15 episodes of the radio play will then be broadcast from Monday to Friday between 11:30p.m. and 12:00 midnight. After the broadcasting of each episode, a leading character of the radio play will introduce one particular tourism spot in Macau.

MGTO and Metro Broadcasting Corporation Limited would like to spread the message of Macau's unique European culture through the ether to all Hong Kong residents, so as to attract more people to visit Macau.

To go along with the radio play, a 'Wish You Were Here Photography Competition' is being held from June to August. The theme of the competition is to shoot corresponding pictures with scenes of Macau. All Hong Kong residents are welcome to join in the 'Wish You Were Here Photography Competition'. Application for the competition starts from today, June 15th, and lasts until August 20th, 2002.
