Celebrating the 10th Anniversary of Macau SAR Establishment, the first "Celebrate Macau" Exhibition is officially launched on 29th August 2009 (today) at the China Hong Kong City.
The "Celebrate Macau" Exhibition is specially designed as a combination of architectures in Chinese and Western styles. The Macau Government Tourist Office (MGTO) Reception Counter is decorated with Chinese traditional red lanterns to create a festive atmosphere of "Experience Macau Celebrations!". Also, walking through a Southern European style of cobblestone path, audiences are able to visit the four exhibition areas: "Macau World Heritage", "Contemporary Establishment", "Sweet Memory" and "Macau Star Trek".
MGTO aims to showcase the diversified tourism elements to the Hong Kong audience through the presentation of different forms of visual images in the exhibition. Apart from the graphic descriptions of the "Historic Centre of Macau", selected movie footages will be broadcasted to give ones a scenic touch of Macau's uniqueness through the cameras of Hong Kong directors.
As to encourage more Hong Kong residents to celebrate the 10th Anniversary of Macau SAR, MGTO organized a "Celebrate Macau" Photo Collection Campaign this year from May to June. Hong Kong residents are invited to submit their Macau photos to share their precious memory of Macau and witness its development in recent 10 years. Out of over 2,000 photo entries, 86 images are selected to exhibit in the "Contemporary Establishment" and "Sweet Memory" photo areas, which are also published in the "Celebrate Macau Booklet" that will be circulated at the exhibitions.
A total of five "Celebrate Macau" exhibitions will be held from August to December at major shopping malls in Hong Kong, Kowloon and New Territories. The first exhibition is launched on 29-30 August at China Hong Kong City, and the rest will be held monthly on 11-12 September at Elements, on 24-25 October at New Town Plaza; on 8-9 November at Grand Century Place and the finale exhibition will be held during 7-11 December at the Hong Kong MTR Station.
