'Macau Promotion Week' and Travel Exhibition in Singapore a great success (Translation)

The 'Macau Promotion Week' and Travel Exhibition organized by Macau Government Tourist Office in Singapore was a great success. The large-scale Travel Exhibition held at the Great World City attracted a large number of Singapore citizens.

On August 30, Secretary for Social Affairs and Culture, Mr Chui Sai On, Director of Macau Government Tourist Office Mr João Manuel Costa Antunes, together with the officials and guests hosted the opening ceremony to officiate the Travel Exhibition in Singapore. Food stalls set up in the Travel Exhibition with mouth-watering delicacies were flooded by Singapore citizen who all wanted to get a taste of Macau's specialties.

The chefs that specialized in Macau's folk snacks demonstrated how to make the mouthwatering delicacies at the exhibition. Many Singapore citizens were fascinated by the noodle-making master who rode on long bamboo rod to thump on the dough. The almond cookies that gave out delicious smell were the most loved snack, and over 200 pieces were sold right after the exhibition started. A variety of supporting events throughout the exhibition was also scheduled, including Portuguese Folk Dance to bring more fun and joy.

The 'Macau Promotion Week' held at the Oriental Singapore and the Travel Exhibition held at the Great World City will be ended on September 10 and September 3 respectively. The Saturdays and Sundays in between will bring the event to its climax when large number of Singaporean comes to the promotional activities.

Before the exhibition, MGTO and Singapore Airlines (SIA) signed a Memorandum of Understanding for a comprehensive effort to promote and develop Macau as a tourist destination in a sustainable way. The cooperation will raise Macau's profile as a tourist city and attracts more tourists from Southeast Asian countries.
