MGTO organizes "Wonder Macau Festival" and participates in the International Travel Fair in Taiwan

To further enhance the market in Taiwan, the Macau Government Tourist Office (MGTO) organizes a promotional event, "Wonder Macau Festival" at the Victoria Square of Breeze Center from yesterday (22nd) to 24th of November, and participates in the 2002 International Travel Fair in Taipei, aiming to strengthen the image of Macau as a tourism destination and draw more Taiwan tourists to visit Macau.
The promotional event, "Wonder Macau Festival" is packed with activities which feature performances by Casmiro Pinto, a famous singer from Macau, and Tuna Macaense, characteristic snacks, games and chances to win round-trip air ticket to Macau.
Director of MGTO Mr. João Manuel Costa Antunes leads representatives from MGTO and the Macau tourism industry to participate at the 2002 International Travel Fair to be held at the Taipei World Trade Center starting from today (23rd) to 26th of November, to promote the latest Macau tourism products and services at the show.
Organized by the Taiwan Visitors Association, the International Travel Fair is one of the most important tourism fair in Asia and it attracts 454 exhibitors from 51 countries and regions to participate this year. Director Antunes is being invited as one of the officiating guests for the opening ceremony. Macau has 9 booths designed with theme of the Macau SAR Government Headquarters. Through the booth and performances, the picturesque scenery, rich cultural characteristics and most updated tourism information of Macau will be showcased to the trades of tourism industry and local residents in Taiwan.
MGTO hopes, with the promotional activities in Taiwan this time, to enhance the promotion of Macau tourism and to attract more Taiwan tourists to choose Macau as their short-haul tourism destination.
