Macau Government Tourist Office (MGTO) starts an opinion poll about the 3D Mapping Show "Icons‧Macau" to collect opinions from residents, business owners and visitors. MGTO will take the public suggestions into consideration as the Office introduces similar tourism products in the future.
MGTO makes a great effort in promoting the Community Tourism project and designing more tourism products so as to boost the attractiveness of different local communities and encourage visitors to explore the lesser-known districts in Macau.
MGTO introduced the first four walking tour routes under the theme "Step Out, Experience Macau's Communities" in 2013 and keeps enriching the variety of tourism products along the routes. The 3D Mapping Show "Icons‧Macau" is one of the new elements considered by the Office. In order to gain a deeper understanding about the degree of awareness, support and influence regarding the 3D Mapping Show among residents, businesses and visitors, MGTO is carrying out a street and online survey in the form of questionnaires at various stages between 13 August and 20 September.
The street survey begins on 13 August. The districts around St. Lazarus Church and the historic site of Cheng Peng Theatre are chosen as the first two areas for the survey to take place. The staff will interview citizens, businesses and visitors in the two districts. The public are welcome to take part in the survey and voice their opinions.
MGTO will carry out the online survey from 20 August to 20 September. During the mentioned period, citizens, business owners and visitors can log onto MGTO's website: http://industry.macaotourism.gov.mo to fill in the questionnaire (Chinese/Portuguese/English). The questionnaire allows citizens, business owners and visitors to indicate their degree of understanding and support towards the 3D Mapping Show as well as its potential influence; citizens can also fill in their complementary opinions and suggestions.
After the opinion poll is completed, MGTO will write a report for reference in the future when formulating relevant policies. Depending on the result of the opinion poll, the Office may consider staging the 3D Mapping Show at other locations as well.
As one of the tourist attractions along the walking tour route "A Tour of Arts and Culture", Macau Fisherman's Wharf was chosen as the location for the premiere of the 3D Mapping Show for testing. The show was first launched as a trial in April for a period of 15 days and enjoyed positive feedback from the spectators.
