Quality Control of License Processing for Tourist and Hotel Industry (Translation)

Published on 2000/05/02

As tourism is a significant industry in Macau, facilitating a favorable operation environment for the industry sector is a vital task. Macau Government Tourist Office (MGTO), in view of the call, has recently set up an internal computerized monitoring system to better control the processing time for various types of license applications in order to provide the public with effective licensing service.

Starting from June with the new measures, MGTO will give the applicant when he submit the license application a Letter of Confirmation indicating the approximate time needed for a final response from MGTO. Provided that the applicant cooperates, MGTO will be able to process the application as scheduled

MGTO has also informed other public departments, which are involved in the licensing procedures according to the Ordinance, of this arrangement and request their cooperation to submit their technical opinions according to schedule. These public departments include Macau Sports Development Board, Health Services, Cultural Institute, Institute of Tourism Education, Provisional Municipality of Macau, Provisional Municipality of the Islands, Public security Police, Lands, Public Works and Transports Services and Fire-brigade.

The 'Quality Control of License Processing' scheme will enable MGTO to provide efficient and quality services to the public in licensing and in responding to the inquiries from the applicants concerning the licensing process in a quick manner.
